Owyhee Irrigation District's O&M Rates
A brief note to our patrons regarding the Owyhee Irrigation District’s (OID) incurred operations and maintenance charges.
OID is committed to keeping the rates as low as is fiscally responsible and would like to remind the patrons that for the year 2021 the rates didn’t increase from 2020 rates. Unfortunately, for the year 2023, this was not the case and OID needed to raise rates. There were two main factors that drove the rate increase;
1) like many individuals and businesses inflation has impacted the District significantly, specifically, fuel costs and insurance costs have risen faster than the national inflation rate and
2) unfortunately another side effect of the current drought conditions is that the revenue from Hydro-Power production plants is down dramatically. Thank you for your concern and the time you have taken to research the rate increase as always OID will continue to look for ways to reduce the costs to our patrons.
